The performance of the graduate of an academic program at the higher education level represents an evaluative indicator of the relevance or not of the occupational profile and its impact in the academic and labor field. This study reveals the contributions and marks that have left the graduates of the Dance Program of the Universidad del Atlántico in the Carnival of Barranquilla, from the fields of competence defined in their graduation profile. Methodologically, it was analyzed from the qualitative epistemological perspective, under the historical-hermeneutic method, with the application of surveys aimed at the graduates of the program and the analysis of content based on documents and repositories of evidence. According to the findings, the principal occupational profiles are creation, interpretation, training and research. It is concluded that there is great participation of the graduates in the different events of the Carnival, stationary and parades with certain specifications. Similarly, it is evident the evolution of dance in Barranquilla due to the contribution and role assumed by the graduates in the Barranquilla Camival.
